I love lemons! Especially when they are fresh! I made lemon bars for the first time using a recipe I found online from Chef John from All Recipes.com. I followed the recipe exactly. I only added 1/4 cup more of lemon juice because I love a tart lemon flavor. Fantastic!

What I love most about this recipe is you are making the crust yourself and it’s not a pre-made pastry crust that you would buy at the store. This gives you more control to customize the flavor of the crust to your liking if needed (e.g. use shortening instead of butter).

I have more lemons left over so I will probably be making more bars to experiment with other people’s recipes to find the one I like best. 🙂
