Sugar Cookies. OK! So these didn’t come out sugar cookies. They came out flour cookies. lol. My family had a blast making fun of these saying how could I make something so sugarless after all the good stuff I’ve been making. This time it wasn’t my fault! The recipe I used was defective. NEVER use 3 cups of flour and only half a cup of sugar for ANY kind of cookies!!
Pineapple Marinated Pork Chop. We had a pork loin in the freezer that had to be cooked. I had no idea what to do with it. So I experimented and marinaded it in my own pineapple marinade concoction. I was shocked at how flavorful this came out. It wasn’t dry and could be eaten by itself without adding mashed potatoes or the pineapple sauce I made.
Homemade Coconut Cake. I decided to omit some ingredients from the recipe as I did not like adding almond extract nor almond paste. The last time I added almond extract to my coconut cookies they didn’t taste anything like a coconut cookie. So this turned out to be a lovely, coconut tasting, cake! 🙂
Pocky! Living in the Southwest, they don’t normally have a variety of flavors of these graham cracker covered sticks. I finally found a flavor that’s not strawberry or just chocolate. I was in New York’s Chinatown. Out of all the China towns I’ve been to, New York’s was the most expensive! I paid $3.50 for these in Chinatown and I only get 12 small sticks. These would normally cost $2. Proving my point about expensive Chinatown.
Not all my foodie adventures have me begging for more. I don’t remember the name of the cafe I got this from in New York today but, this is the nastiest carrot cupcake I’ve EVER had!!! haha. Never again. I don’t know why they even called this a carrot cupcake! It sure as hell didn’t taste like carrot. And what’s that white stuff on top!? You can’t convince me that that’s frosting!! Frosting isn’t hard and gelatinous! I’m a carrot cake lover and this was an epic fail in my opinion!
In one of my earlier posts I said I would get myself a real Jamaican Beef Patty when I go to New York. I did! Nothing compares to the real thing! I was taken back to my youth when I ate this today! I was surprised that I got this from a popular pizza place in New York called Ray’s Pizza. It was great. It only cost me $2 for this hand sized patty. I was thoroughly satisfied! 🙂
While I was walking up Broadway on my way to Central Park this morning, I came across a cart selling Belgian waffles; Wafels & Dinges (pronounced: ding-uhs). Now, I LOVE belgian waffles so I had to try this out. For $5, I got their regular waffle topped with their own Spekuloos Spread and powdered sugar. Not only was the waffle delicious, the Spekuloos spread was phenomenal!! Nutella has NOTHING on this Spekuloos spread! It’s been described as tasting like gingerbread-cinnamon cookies! It really is good. If you’re ever in New York and you see the waffle cart, try one out! Visit their website too if you like. Wafels & Dinges. You can even buy their food online!
